Personal statement
I will continue to focus on the pathway animation and games design
My weaknesses in the animation and games design may be manly the compositing aspect of the course, on multiple occasions projects would start off strong but will lack thefinal touches which could have been done compositing the final piece.
I would like to broaden my knowledge and become more experience in different skills such as animating and compositing.
In 2 years I see my self enrolling onto higher education, specifically onto a 3d design course. in five years I want to start working professionally either as a freelancer or work within a studio, I want like be a generalist 3d artist until I find a specific skill ( modeling, texturing , animation) I excel at. in ten years time I would like to be cg supervisor and ultimately owning a 3d design studio.
In order to achieve these goals I will need to start off by learning all aspects of 3d design, I ill be to continue my studies in the next year and Ill will be focusing on learning all the new skills being taught so I have a solid foundation skill set that iscrucialin the competitive career of 3d artist.
in terms of employability related skills my strength aretime management skills, I feel am able to follow a self planned schedule and make adjustment to while still achieving goals in time frame given.
my weaknessis mostly writing skills and presentations skills, I feel that these will need the most improvement for me specifically. iway I could improve my writing skills and presentation skills is just to practice these skills, doing this I would gain the experience and the confident to these to a professional standard

Becoming a freelancer:
research into the process into setting up as a freelance artist what are the starting points and requirements to being a successful?
Starting as a freelancers requires a lot of preparation and determination, i have researched steps of becoming a freelancer.
The first step to becoming a free lancer is to be prepared before becoming full time freelance artist. when start you wont be gaining clients with high paying projects straight away, our first several months can be spent just trying to find clients. This can mean a long period with no source of income.
You should have at least four to five months of living expenses saved up; this includes everything from rent money, food, gas, etc. Basically everything you need in order to live. once you do start getting clients it doesn't mean that other client keep falling in line either, you should always have some sought of saving as a fallbacks during 'client dry spells'
The next step is to set your schedule, as a freelance artist you are your own boss, you should have schedule on when you should work and give yourself timeframes of when to finish work, you should approach your schedule as a professional job as this a good hobbit and help you focus more on work and get it done. you can get a time application your pc in order accurately measure your hours and breaks, and even use this to manage billable time spent on different clients.
One tip is to avoid distractions, in order to keep productive and stay on schedule, you need to avoid wasting time and being distracted from work, a great way to do this is to invest into a office space, this will help you avoid the distractions of working at home such as TV and social media
the last step is being professional and building rapport with your clients, a freelance artist goal is to build a network of well known clients that keep coming back with projects, giving him/her a sustainable income. Usually most clients come looking for artist instead of vise versa, so building a strong connection with client will help because they may have connections with other future clients that here about you from other clients.
For the animationand game design showcase we focused on creating show reels of the years work which will be shown on the computers in class, this is because the course is computer based it our the main way to show our work by by our show reel, so we all created out on own individual show reel and then they all we edited together in order to create a class show reel.
we also to still prints of our best pieces and showed them on the walls. the room was separated so that year 2 students would have a computer to themselves and year one would have multiplefor showing the best pieces of work, we utilized the computers by showing 3 different aspects, website portfolios, animations and 3d game level environment that people could explore.
what we could of improved was the location of the computer, because they were in the corner it has hard to our some of work to catch the attention of the viewers and interact with it like the game environments.
